Yes.

I think they're great if, and only if, everyone involved has a complete understanding of the type of relationship it is.

No. None, at all. If you're in a committed relationship, then you have no right to hurt the other person by breaking their trust in that manner. And if you're unhappy in a relationship, leave it, for the sakes of all involved.

Well, I'm not religious; I'm spiritual. And there are several principles of certain religions with which I have big problems, but if the person was open-minded and didn't try to force their beliefs on me, it might work.

My answer to that is sort of along the same lines as the religion question, but perhaps with a little less leniency. For example, I could never date someone who actively lobbyed against gay rights.

I don't know that I could ever date someone underage, but as for older, age isn't important.

Sense of humor, sensitivity, maturity, an open mind, and the ability to be yourself without worrying about what judgments others make about you.

I used not to. Then, I got sexually active, and now I'm not sure what I believe. I guess it's all an individual's choice. there are pros and cons to both ways.

Depends. If it's just a friend with benefits, then safety, good sex, honesty and a decent personality. But if it's a meaningful relationship then I'd include loyalty, ability to handle each other's ups and downs, good listening and communication skills, respect, a good sense of humour and of course, love.

Absolutely. I think it's always a good idea to know what you're getting into before you choose to do something that drastic.

I'm fine with them so long as it really is open, i.e. not one partner can see other people but the other can't (unless it's by choice) or one partner sees other people and doesn't tell the other one. Also, the new partner/s need to understand their position.

Not unless, say, the partners discussed it before hand. An example is "if one could no longer have sex and told the other it was okay to have another partner or if they discussed something like if one went into a coma or had brain injuries and was mentally incompetant, the other partner could see someone. Note that I don't consider it cheating if the partners are separated from one another for an extensive period of time (two years or more) with no attempt at real communication.

I think that's sort of along the lines of the relationship question asked earlier. Openness, honesty, willingness to listen, maturity, not a harsh judge, funny, can hold a conversation, good heart, respectful, into sex, has interesting life experiences.

Looks? If I was to describe the perfect look that I want in a guy, lets see. Dark hair, brown eyes, taller than me, average weight, dresses simple, but presentable, smells good, and has a cute smile.
Race? No.
Disability? Yeah, its okay if the person is blind, but it’s not okay if he has psychological and cognitive delays.
Profession? Yeah, I admire guys that take the time to put themselves to college, and get a stable career because it shows their character and what they value in life.
Income? Sometimes because how can you both have fun if you cannot even pay for a date? Having a stable job is important because it will keep you in control and independent of your life. It’s a great feeling knowing that your depending on yourself for anything. At least, you know that you do not owe anyone anything. It’s not shallow to judge by these characteristics, it's called having standards. Why would you want to be with just anybody? If you work hard, you should also find someone who knows who to work harder because if your not in the same page, you will end up working for the both of you. By the way, I do not like lazy people. They irritate me a lot because they keep on complaining and they keep on saying that they are bored, but in reality, there’s too many things that needs to be done, and that requires their time and effort. Instead of sitting around and complaining, working toward a task is a better choice.

Clinginess, constant need for reassurance, low self-esteem, arrogance, crudeness--fully agreed with chelsea here . And some other addional turn offs such as bad personal hygiene, disorganized, people who are too negative about everything, aggressiveness, and last but not the least, people who are not honest.
